Transgender Day of Remembrance 2019 – #TDOR (Wednesday, November 20)! Every year, November 20 is officially celebrate as Happy Transgender Day of Remembrance to honor commemorate, and memorialize those who face discrimination and stigma (often on a daily basis) across the nation. We know that, transgender people have suffered various forms of abuse (and even death) for challenging the views, notions, and stereotypes around “male” and “female” identity.

The Transgender Day of Remembrance was founded in 1999 by Gwendolyn Ann Smith, a transgender woman, to memorialize the murder of transgender woman Rita Hester in Allston, Massachusetts.
