New 2023 DJI Pocket 3 Release Date, Price, Specs, News, Leaks, Rumors! In the world of photography, DJI is known for its excellent and innovative consumer products, such as drones and handheld cameras. It also makes handheld cameras and gimbals, even though it’s best known for drones.

This can be seen in the Pocket series. It was a big hit when Pocket first came out in 2018. In the fall of 2020, DJI released Pocket 2. There haven’t been any updates on the DJI Pocket 3 for two years. It was reported recently that DJI had planned to release the Pocket 3 in April 2023 but instead chose to release the Inspire 3. We didn’t receive the latest DJI Pocket 3.

Let’s look at everything we know about the forthcoming DJI Pocket 3 that has been similar. We’ll keep this page up to date with the most recent news and rumors until the final is out.

DJI Pocket 3 Release Date

@DealsDrone, a well-known DJI expert and pilot, shared what seems to be a taken paper that shows the new DJI goods coming out in 2023. According to the report, Pocket 3 was expected to launch in the fourth month of 2023 April 2023. However, as already discussed, that time slot was provided for the new Inspire 3.

The Inspire 3 was supposed to come out in March 2023, but it came out in May 2023, two months late. If we think that DJI is two months from its release schedule for 2023 goods, we can anticipate the forthcoming DJI Pocket 3 to come out in June 2023.

The paper also indicates the release of other significant products in 2023, such as a new DJI Air 3 that possibly got put back. DealsDrone is a well-known and trustworthy DJI expert who has been anticipating DJI timeframes accurately. A comparable schedule paper was released in 2022, and it accurately predicted the DJI product announcements for 2022.

What can we expect from DJI Pocket 3?

Neither an official release nor an unofficial leak is currently available. Therefore, Here are some speculations about DJI Pocket 3 future product development.

Updated Camera

The Pocket 2 came with a 1/1.7′′ sensor, which isn’t bad but wasn’t very good in low light. You had to turn it up to 6000 ISO to get a good shot. DJI did fix this problem with a software trick called “High-Quality mode.” It was just a rougher version.

With Pocket 3, we could see a larger lens or the 1″ sensor that we saw in Mavic Air 2. It could make the gimbal and design a lot bigger, yet the trade-off in flexibility would be good.

Some people hope for the new Cine camera, which we notice in Mavic 3. Having a raw shooting codec or a PROres codec would be great. Real HDR movies can be shot if the color depth is raised to 10 bits.

DJI claims the Pocket 2 is able to shoot HDR, yet if you look at the clip’s information, you only get 8-bit colors. Real HDR has a color depth of at least 10 bits. A color correction would also be better with a better dynamic range of 13 to 14 stops. Once more, such are all merely wish lists but depend on good ideas.

Portrait mode Shooting

Social media is buzzing with portrait videos these days. Whether it’s TikTok, YouTube shorts, or IG stories, they all use portrait recordings. The DJI Mini 3 Pro has a portrait mode that caters to this market. Pocket 3 should include a portrait mode with an automatic rotation of 90 degrees to record photos and videos in the vertical orientation.

Removable Battery

There is always a benefit to modular designs. Batteries are notorious for degrading over time, and you can remove and replace faulty parts. Swapping out the battery between recordings on the Pocket 2 is impossible, as we quickly do with drones. Your battery lasts between one and two hours, depending on how often you use it. A replaceable battery would have allowed it to continue recording continuously for an extended time. Having a removable battery in Pocket 3 would make it easier to switch between recordings.

Mic Jack & Speakers

It would be nice if the Pocket 3 had a microphone jack that could accept input from third parties. We will be able to record audio more effectively and control it better. Again, you can buy an additional accessory to add a mic jack, but we hope that’s built into the Pocket 3. Additionally, it would be nice to have internal speakers for playback. Good-quality speakers may be difficult to fit inside.

Waterproof Design

Making a waterproof version of the Pocket 2 would not be accessible, especially given moving elements like the gimbal. But we’re hoping that in Pocket 3, they’ll figure it out. Most consumers choose an action camera like the GoPro Hero 9 or the DJI Osmo Action because of the latter’s and the former’s natural resistance to water.

Underwater usage is possible; however, transporting a Pocket 2 is not. Not without a separate watertight housing. Adding water resistance to Pocket 3 would appeal to a different demographic: those participating in water activities. Although technically challenging, it is not inconceivable.

Better cooling system

If you use the Pocket 2 for a prolonged time at high FPS, it will heat up. This is because it does not have a heatsink or an air vent to keep it cool.

Its compact design prevents heat dissipation, so the fast processor generates heat. The Pocket 3 CPU might be even quicker, so the cooling system needs to improve.

It won’t make a good user experience if the users end up sweaty. In the comments section below, kindly share your thoughts if you believe DJI should add more features to the Pocket 3.
